VERDEinMED holds its second in-person consortium meeting in Portugal

23/09/2024

On 17 and 18 September, VERDEinMED partners and associated partners held our second face-to-face consortium meeting in Vila Nova de Famaliçao (Portugal). The meeting took place at the premises of CITEVE, a private technological institute focused on the textile industry.

The aim of the meeting was to share the progress made in the project during its first nine months of operation. With the vision of promoting textile circularity at regional and/or national level, and to cooperate between different Mediterranean countries, the second VERDEinMED Consortium Meeting also served to launch the next actions of the project.

“In addition to the meetings, the agenda for the first day included an interesting visit to the CITEVE facilities, where VERDEinMED partners gained first-hand insights into various projects and technologies developed by the institute. On the second day, the group visited the facilities of the textile recycling company and associated partner, Sasia – Reciclagem de Fibras Têxteis. The tour provided a deeper understanding of this mechanical recycling business model, highlighted as an example of good practice in sustainability.
