Our story
The VERDEinMED project was born from the need to address the growing textile waste problem. At the heart of our mission lies the promotion of recycling, sustainable production, and the circular economy in the textile sector. Our consortium includes partners from Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, Northern Macedonia, Portugal, Slovenia, and Spain, all working together to develop sustainable solutions for the Mediterranean region. With support from entities and institutions in Belgium, Lebanon, Tunisia, and Turkey, our initiative spans 11 countries.
Guided by European directives, our journey began in February 2024, as we convened in Kastoria, Greece. Committed to creating lasting change, we aim to lay the groundwork for future projects in this crucial area.
A COMMUNITY COMMITTED TO SUSTAINABILITY
Furthermore, as a Thematic Project of the Interreg Euro-MED program, we will collaborate with the Interreg Results Amplification Strategy to facilitate the exploitation, sharing, and reuse of knowledge and results, encourage the transfer of practices and results to other actors and territories, and increase coordination between actors working in the Mediterranean region.
Through collaboration with other projects and the creation of a community committed to sustainability, the Mediterranean region will greatly benefit from cooperation on environmental issues.
